Grade School List

Grade School ListKnowing how important vocabulary is, teachers begin equipping students with good vocabulary in grade school. Grade school vocabulary lists are something we all remember from grade school. The worksheets and lessons we were responsible for reading at home helped us learn the meaning of many different vocabulary words that were on our grade school list.

Many teachers require that students in their class learn to spell and define the vocabulary words on a weekly grade school vocabulary list. The grade school teacher should go over the grade school vocabulary list in the classroom and assign the reading lesson. The reading lesson and worksheets assigned by the grade school vocabulary teacher should be done at home. This ensures maximum exposure to the grade school list of vocabulary words, both by the teacher as he or she goes over the lesson and reading assignments in class, but also as the student does the home reading and worksheets at home to improve their vocabulary.

The grade school vocabulary list should be age appropriate and approved by the teacher or administrator in charge of setting the lesson plan. If you have a student in first grade, they should be learning first grade vocabulary. A second grader should be responsible for doing worksheets at home with second grade vocabulary. A third grader then should be reading vocabulary at a third grade level. A student in the fourth grade should be going over a vocabulary list with words that can be found on a fourth grade vocabulary list. And a fifth grade student should be doing reading and worksheets at home that match words that can be found in the vocabulary list of any fifth grader and any other grade school. The teacher or lesson plan administrator will see to it that every student is learning vocabulary words appropriate to their grade using worksheets, reading, home work, and grade school vocabulary lists.
